Fourth Time's a Charm

A big thank-you to all the donors, sponsors, undergraduates, alums, players, and volunteers of the Sheffey Endowment Golf Tournament.

For a fourth year, we were able to grow the Endowment and the scholarship that bears the name of our fellow departed brother William Sheffey.

Alums and undergraduate brothers attended the ceremony, where we presented the check for just over $23,000 to Dr. Naomi E. Boyd, the new dean of the VCU School of Business.

The Endowment provides annual scholarships to deserving VCU School of Business students. The scholarship recipients are students who have displayed both academic excellence and an exceptional commitment to community service.

The Golf Tournament was also established in 2018 to accelerate the Endowment’s growth. Through the caring hearts and generosity of many of Will’s family, friends, and Kappa Sigma brothers, the tournament fundraised has since raised $6,000, $10,000, $12,500, and now $23,100, respectively, between 2018 and 2022. These donations and significant gifts from individuals, businesses, organizations, and corporations feed the growing Endowment. In addition, the increased funding fuels our desire to award even more significant scholarships to our diverse applicants.
